Cabarete Real Estate – Great Investment Property

I would like to take a minute to explain why real estate properties in Cabarete, a small town on the north coast of Dominican Republic are a great investment and why now is a good time to take a closer look at investment properties in Cabarete. Without further ado, let me break it down:

Cabarete – Wind and Kite Surfing Capital of the World

The popularity of previously small village in the Dominican Republic called Cabarete has grown immensely since it became clear that Cabarete beach offers perfect conditions for wind and kite surfing. Windsurfing enthusiasts could not get enough of Cabarete and the word spread to a point that the town is now a host to international Windsurfing championship.

It is no longer a secret and today Cabarete is visited by thousands of people every day so owners of real estate properties are never too short of potential tenants. Endless popularity already attracts foreign investors so new properties are built there all the time.

Cabarete – Excellent Location

Before Cabarete became known as the wind surfing and kite surfing capital of the world, it had been known for the Barrier Coral Reef which created Cabarete Bay. It is located only 20 minutes by car from Gregorio Luperon International Airport, also known as the Puerto Plata Airport (POP). Such proximity to a major hub for the international traffic to the Dominican Republic makes Cabarete easily accessible for both real estate owners as well as potential renters.

This proximity to the Puerto Plata International Airport made foreign investors focus on Cabarete real estate and real estate market there became very active very quickly. Urban development is obvious as Cabarete dubs proximity to the international airport with one of the finest beaches in the Caribbean.

Limited Real Estate Development Possibilities in Cabarete

The possibilities of real estate development in Cabarete are limited, because the town is limited in size. For one, Cabarete is located on the shore of the Atlantic Ocean so it can’t expand in that direction. Secondly, there are mountains to the west and south of Cabarete further limiting the possibilities of greater real estate developments.

What does this mean to a potential property investor? Look at it this way – the popularity of Cabarete will continue to grow. More and more people will want to spend their vacation in the Dominican Republic in Cabarete, but there will be only a limited number of properties available, since the town can’t expand anymore. When the limits are reached and no more real estate properties can be built, the value of existing properties in Cabarete will sky rocket. The demand is not going to stop. The demand is unlimited. What’s limited is space and as such, the number of investment properties.

That’s the good news. The bad news is that Cabarete is so popular, it’s not only property investors who are looking to own real estate in this town. Cabarete has become extensively popular as a retirement destination, people are buying their vacation homes there, many buy their second homes in Cabarete and let’s not forget young people from all over the world who know Cabarete attracts their age groups so they’re all looking for mortgages in order to buy a home in Cabarete.

What this all means is that Cabarete is full of great real estate investments, however prices are not gonna stay on the lower scale for much longer. Right now Cabarete is still one of the best towns for real estate investments in the Caribbean, but as the land keeps running out, prices are naturally going to grow. Those who already own a property in Cabarete will see their investment grow. Those who hesitate will look at much higher a cost if they’d still like to own a property there.
